About the Studio
The Alchemy Studio’s mission is to cultivate holistic wellness in the Edinboro community by integrating the mind, body, and spirit in every aspect of our offerings. Through the transformative practices of yoga, reiki, and hypnotherapy, we aim to heal past traumas, expand spiritual awareness, and empower individuals to lead calmer lives with more joy and contentment. By fostering a supportive community, we can create a ripple effect of the collective well-being. Our kid’s yoga program will introduce children to mindfulness, holistic health, and spiritual exploration in a safe, inclusive, non-religious context, planting seeds of self-awareness and balance for future generations. At The Alchemy Studio, we believe in the profound power of holistic practices to transform lives and elevate the collective human experience.
The studio is located in Edinboro, PA on route 99, just 10 minutes from the PennWest Edinboro Campus and less than 20 minutes from Fairview, McKean, and Millcreek. We are currently undergoing construction before opening, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
it’s been a journey…
Hi there. I’m Katie Schopp, the owner of The Alchemy Studio.
I spent most of my life thus far on autopilot. Denying traumatic experiences and living to ensure no one else was made to feel uncomfortable. Unsurprisingly, I’ve dealt with severe anxiety and depression as a result of denying my experience and living out of alignment with my needs as a human being.
In my twenties, as anxiety began to rule my life, I finally jumped into therapy. I spent roughly 10 years dissecting what I had been through in an effort to understand myself and begin to heal.
Yoga had been a small part of my life since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until I began regularly practicing and meditating that it all clicked for me… the power to heal was inside me. I just had to commit to doing the work. Embracing and accepting myself without judgment in my practice eventually got me to the point where I was experiencing real changes in my life.
Healing will be a forever process for me, but now, I am on a mission to show everyone that they have the power to heal themselves. They have the power to make real changes that not only benefit their’s and their loved one’s quality of life but also the entire world.
I am a wife and mother to two little boys, Jones (5) and Ryder (7). The wellness (body, mind, soul) of my family is most important to me, and yet I am so much more than a wife and mother.
In June of 2022, I left my kids with my husband and went to a 200-hour, 16-day immersion-style yoga teacher training in Bradenton, FL. It was infinitely more intense than I had imagined, and yet it set fire to something in me that I didn’t know was there. Since then, I have essentially been non-stop training and adding certifications–I don’t think I will ever be done learning and growing.
My certifications include:
200 hour YTT - Heartwood Yoga Institute
Aerial YTT - Heartwood Yoga Institute
300 hour YTT - Yogamu

I believe in a holistic approach to our health that empowers us as individuals to take healing into our own hands.
Body
It’s no secret that movement is medicine. From keeping our muscle tone as we age to increasing our range of motion through various joints, moving our bodies has very real benefits for our physical well-being. What’s more, regular exercise can greatly benefit our mental health as well. I believe in a multi-faceted approach to movement including yoga, cardio, and strength training. But the most important thing is that we move in ways we love. Gone are the days when exercise was viewed as punishment. We get to move!
Mind
Stress is a natural part of life. However, our culture has unfortunately made stress the only way to exist. So many of us feel extreme guilt if we’re not being “productive",” and yet we’re running around like zombies on autopilot, showing up as a shell of a human for those we love most. Meditation and breathing techniques help to manage our stress levels and deal with our triggers so that we can engage in the world the way we want to.
Soul
God, Source, the Universe, All That Is, Ala, the Divine. Whatever your beliefs, getting in touch with your own soul is critical to the healing journey. We are, after all, spiritual beings having a human experience. To deny the soul is to deny the majority of who we are. Yoga, meditation, and reiki can reconnect you with your spiritual side so you can feel more whole and balanced.
